Director & Teacher

Debbie Brasil has always enjoyed being around children. Over 17 years ago, while working full time in the high tech industry she began taking part-time Early Childhood Education courses through Algonquin College's Continuing Education. When Debbie's first child was born, she decided to make a career change and began a full-time home daycare, which she operated for 8 years while raising two children of her own.  Subsequently, Debbie worked as a Community Outreach Resource Worker with Global Child Care Services, running playgroups and toy lending library, she also worked as a teacher at St. Christopher's Preschool in Orleans and went on to complete her ECE with Honours through Algonquin College in 2009. Debbie chose to work at The Orleans Preschool after completing her final placement in the fall of 2009 at TOPS because she felt at home with the friendly staff and found the environment to be positive for child development and learning.  Currently, Debbie is the Director/Preschool Teacher at the school teaching in the two-morning Preschool program and the Introductory  French Program.
