Tricia Sheahan, B.Ed.
Preschool Teacher
Tricia has always known that she wanted to work with children. This was cemented after she did a co-op placement in a kindergarten class during high school.
She finished a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology with honors at Trent University. She then followed her passion in working with children by going back for further studies in Bachelor of Education at the University of Western Ontario and became a member of the Early Years Education group. She holds an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate for the primary/junior division.
After becoming a mom of 3 children, parenting became Tricia’s main focus. She then decided to stay home with her children and ran a home daycare and also drove a school bus. All three of her children attended The Orleans Preschool and over the years Tricia built great relationships with the friendly staff of TOPS. Tricia found the preschool environment to be positive for child development and learning and therefore in 2014 she decided to support the teaching team by supply teaching as needed. Subsequently over the years Tricia became a permanent member of the teaching team and currently teaches in the mornings in the Full-Day Preschool program.
Tricia enjoys photography and event planning which she incorporates into her work to create a fun learning environment and a sense of belonging for the TOPS families.
