Tricia Sheahan has known she wanted to work with young children since she was a child playing school with her younger sister and stuffed toys. This was cemented after she did a coop placement in a kindergarten class during high school. She ran a summer camp for a number of years during University with the Children’s Welcome Centre. She graduated with honours from Trent University with a Bachelor of Science with a major in psychology. She graduated with distinction from The University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Education and was a member of the Early Years Education group. She holds an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate. She took a management position at Chapters in Kingston while her husband finished school. After having 3 children Tricia drove a school bus and ran a home daycare so she was able to stay home with the kids. All three of her children attended The Orleans Preschool and in 2014 Tricia was fortunate to join the TOPS team as a supply teacher which allowed her to work with children while maintaining her ability to participate in her children’s school and sports activities. She is excited to join the TOPS team on a more consistent basis as the Program Assistant.
