Welcome to The Orleans Preschool

Welcome to The Orleans Preschool! We are a non-profit cooperative nursery school, licensed by the Ministry of Education. We have been proudly serving the Orleans community since 1981!

TOPS is governed and administered by our Director and our Board of Directors, run by dedicated parent volunteers. The Orleans Preschool is enrolled in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System.

At TOPS, we follow the “How Does Learning Happen” curriculum, introduced by the Ministry of Education in 2014. We deliver child-centered and play based learning programs that foster belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression. We are licensed for children 18 months to 5 years of age. Our program runs September to June (10 months), following the Ottawa Carleton District School Board calendar. Our teaching team is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. 

As a co-operative, the program is enriched by the participation, and support of parents and families. We rely on our parent committees to complete tasks that are crucial to the day to day operations of the nursery school (ie: laundry, lawn maintenance, minor repairs). We have plenty of committees to choose from!
